The 2024/25 Premier League season hasn’t provided much respite from the madness that seems to be going on behind the scenes at Everton Football Club.
Four defeats in their opening four games have done nothing for fans’ confidence that their club will still be in England’s top flight a year from now, when they will have just moved into a new top-flight stadium generation at Bramley-Moore Dock.
Being relegated to the Championship is certainly not the way the Toffees say goodbye to Goodison Park, but unless Sean Dyche can turn the tide, that’s exactly where they’re headed.
Jay-Z could be part of Everton takeover bid
Mismanagement at the top, which has resulted in points deductions for the club, has hardly helped Everton’s cause, although there may be help in the form of businessman John Textor and potentially, from an incredibly well-known sponsor.
according to The Sunmusic mogul and rap God Jay-Z has been approached with a view to investing in the Merseyside outfit as part of plans to take over Textor.
It is believed that there is still some way to go before Textor can ensure that the Farhad Moshiri years go down in the history books, although with someone like Jay-Z on board, he could make things work a lot better in the future
“There’s a lot of interest from American sports stars and American rap stars“said former Everton chief executive Keith Wyness Football Insider‘s Inside Track Podcast.
“I know a League Two club that has one of the top rappers and a consortium of NFL players trying to buy their way. It’s attractive to them, they see it as good for their profile.
“These clubs are also good investments, so we will not see a shortage of them.
“Jay-Z is a good businessman, and it’s interesting (the Everton takeover). He has serious money, is a proven businessman, and would bring many contacts in the business world.
“I wouldn’t be the worst co-investor.”
