Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah will reportedly meet Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi. The much-anticipated match between Jay Shah and Mohsin Naqvi has grabbed attention as the most awaited Champions Trophy 2025 is just around the corner.
Pakistan is preparing to host the Champions Trophy in February-March next year. However, speculations are rife that the Indian national cricket team will travel to Pakistan for the upcoming ICC tournament. On the other hand, PCB aims to host the entire tournament in Pakistan.
India is yet to confirm whether it will visit Pakistan. Pakistan left the decision to ICC to satisfy BTSO. The ICC is preparing for contingencies and reports suggest that a portion of the budget has been set aside in case India’s matches need to be moved outside of Pakistan.
Jay Shah is set to meet Mohsin Naqvi in Dubai on October 20
Jay Shah and Mohsin Naqvi will meet in the final match of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in Dubai in October. According to Geo News, the PCB is currently awaiting the final approval of the ICC Champions Trophy schedule to finalize its logistical arrangements for the tournament.
In a recent meeting with ICC officials, the Pakistan Cricket Board asked for the schedule to be signed as soon as possible to facilitate smooth preparations for the Champions Trophy. PCB has already made provisional bookings based on the proposed schedule and expects them to be finalized soon.
The ICC is expected to announce the Champions Trophy schedule by the end of October. The main topic of discussion in the meeting between PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi and BCCI Secretary Jay Shah will be India’s participation in the tournament scheduled to be held in Pakistan.
India has not toured Pakistan since 2008 due to ongoing political tensions. The Indian team last toured Pakistan in 2008 for the Asia Cup. The two countries have not played a bilateral cricket series since 2013, but they continue to face each other at neutral venues or in ICC and ACC events in India.
