Jasprit Bumrah given up? Fresh report leaves Rohit, Gambhir is stunned


Team India’s pace bowling leader Jasprit Bumrah has raised serious concerns over his availability for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which begins in February. The Indian cricket team is likely to enter the upcoming marquee tournament without a white-ball player.

With the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 around the corner, Team India is facing uncertainty over Bumrah’s availability. Bumrah was instrumental in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and finished as the leading wicket-taker with 32 dismissals. His injury raises doubts over his recovery ahead of the ICC tournament.

Jasprit Bumrah Not Out in Final Overs of Fifth BGT Test

Bumrah did not take part in the final innings of the fifth Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test in Sydney. Bumrah injured his back while bowling in the first innings. His absence was felt for India as Australia cruised to a six-wicket victory. Australia won the series and qualified for the World Test Championship Final.

The right-arm fast bowler was scanned on Day 2 but his participation remained undecided till Day 3. He came to bat for India in the second innings but he did not bat. In his absence, Virat Kohli took charge but the bowling attack led by Prasidh Krishna and Mohammed Siraj struggled to make an impact.

Bit tough for Jasprit Bumrah at the moment – RevSportz

RevSportz has expressed concerns about Jasprit Bumrah’s physical condition and added that his condition may be more serious than first thought. The journalist said that Bumrah’s issue goes beyond a minor spasm. It was noted that Bumrah’s participation in the Champions Cup remains uncertain.

“I would like to share about Jasprit Bumrah. It is a bit difficult for him at the moment. There is a possibility that he will miss the Champions Trophy. I have heard that it is not just a spasm but something more. We are not able to be clear. As more information is being gathered. , but it is definitely beyond a small problem,” the journalist said in a video shared on RevSportz Hindi channel.

“Yesterday he tried to play but his body didn’t allow it so he stayed away. Right now it is uncertain whether Jasprit Bumrah will play in the Champions Trophy. We have to wait and see what happens with him. .”

Champions Cup 2025 is scheduled from February 19 to March 9

Champions Trophy 2025 will be held from February 19 to March 9 across three venues in Pakistan and one in Dubai. Team India will play all their matches, including the semi-finals and finals if they advance, in Dubai. Team India has been placed in Group A along with Pakistan, Bangladesh and New Zealand.

India is one of the most successful teams in the Champions Trophy, having won two titles. They shared the title with Sri Lanka in 2002 due to weather conditions and won another title in 2013 when they defeated England. India also finished as runners-up in 2017 and 2000, losing to Pakistan and New Zealand respectively.
