Going on the weekend, 2025 masters the driver is Packed with superstars. Jason Day is one of them, and he is not afraid of the power of fire represented by the contenders of his master’s friends.
The day will start the third round in four under and four shots after the leader Justin Rose. And names like Rory Mcilroy, Bryson dechambeau AND Scottie Scheffler Sit between him and the lead.
But though he has never gained a master, he has more experience in Augusta National than almost anyone else in quarrel. And on Friday, he shared an open message to anyone who thinks this tournament It’s already over.
Jason Day Masters Message
After his second round 70, Day spoke with reporters in Augusta. And when asked what lessons from his 14 years playing the masters give hope for the weekend, he identified a widely kept truth about how-and when the tournament is usually placed: nine back during the last round.
“Just get yourself in the quarrel on the back (Sunday). Thing everything happens on the back,” began day Friday.

And then the day went a step further, saying that history shows that some specific players tend to collapse in the nine rear.
“Of course there is evidence of certain people or individuals who have fought on the back and certain boys who have played well on the back and have also won,” the day began.
But he stopped at least by his name of his claimants, whoever he might be, claiming that he did not want to make those players worse with bad memories of the past Sundays.
“I’m not going to mention names because it can no doubt bring people’s memories.”
But the Blunt’s day of truth shared, which the record shows that it is true, gives hope that it can only become the second Australian to win the masters this week. As long as he can get in the distance by a shock until Sunday evening.
“Spend tomorrow. I know it will be difficult, but take opportunities, try and capitalize on them and then I will do myself in opposition to Nine Sunday,” Day told his plan.
Last Sunday masters collapses
gamers being destroyed under pressure on Sunday It has been a feature of the tournament since it began in 1934. And some contenders in this year’s masters have an unfortunate history of them.
Although he won the masters in his second test in 2015, Jordan Spieth is one of those players. Next year, Spieth held a five -stroke lead going to the second nine Sunday. His second direct victory was all, but he was assured.
But then Spieth rinsed two shots in the 12th first hole, and within an hour, he would lose the lead and never take it. This was the worst, but not the only example of spieth battles in the nine back.
But the spieth is 10 back going to round 3, so the day is less likely to have to worry about it. Rory Mcilroy, on the other hand, is a bigger problem.
But Mcilroy’s unfortunate story in masters on Sunday is known. He is the main only one he has not won, despite some narrow calls. The closest was in 2011, when Mcilroy held a four -stroke lead on nine back on Sunday. The wheels then fell completely with a triple trunk at 10 and double at 12. Fourteen years later, Rory’s closet still lacks a green jacket.
Mcilroy also had a mini-melting this year. On Thursday, he was four under and close to the lead when he made two double late boges to return at the same time.
The story of Jason Day masters
The day ended T2 in the same masters of 2011, much higher than the eventual completion of Mcilroy, in what was his masters debut.
He added a third place in 2013 and a T10 in 2016, a year after winning the 2015 PGA Championship.
While he also recorded a T5 in 2019, the year Tiger Woods won his fifth masters title, the last results have not been so good.
The day has fought with injuries for years, and his masters end indicate that. He lost cutting in 2020 and 2021 and did not play in 2022.
But in the last two years, Day has experienced a career renaissance. He captured his 13th PGA Tour victory in 2023 AT&T by Byron Nelson. This ended a five-year drought of victory. He finished T2 in the open championship that year, and the results of his master have also improved, a T39 in 2023 and a T30 in 2024.
He is on his way to another high high this year. But can he win the second big one, 10 years after the first one? We will have to wait up to the ninth rear on Sunday to detect it.
