A heavyweight collision between contenders Jarrell Miller and Michael Hunter is an agreement for September 11 in Las Vegas. It will be part of the Canelo Alvarez against Terence Crawford Fight Week.
Ring magazine on X reports the news that the Miller-Hunter battle for September 11 has been completed. Miller (26-1-2, 22 CO’s) was initially scheduled to fight against Jared Anderson, but he pulled out of the match this week. #6 WBA Miller wanted Deontay Wilder to enter the substitute, but he rejected it.
Hunter’s return to relevance
Hunter (24-1-2, 17 food) is at the point of #1 WBA, #7 IBF. Many fans have forgotten about him because he has not fought a significant heavyweight heavyweight since his 12 round against Alexander Povetkin in 2019.
The Olympic hunter in 2012 has been busy since then, but his opposition was strictly lower. This prevented him from being seen on large cards. To remain relevant, fighters must face striking opponents, and Hunter did not.
Hunter’s last seven opponents
Christian Larrondo Garcia
Cassius Chaney
Ignacio Esparza
Miguel cubos
Jerry Forrest
Mike Wilson
Shawn Laughery
It is difficult to predict the winner of the Miller against Hunter Fight. Miller, 36, did not win a fight in two years and is not considered one of the top heavyweights in the division. He missed his chance for a big payday against Anthony Joshua in 2019 when he tested positive for a banned substance.
He would have made a lot of money if he had fought that battle, and maybe beat him. Instead, Andy Ruiz fought the fight and knocked out AJ. He made millions in his two battles with Joshua.
Canelo vs. Crawford Fight Week
Canelo against Crawford Fight Week lower cards are supposed to be used to highlight new talent. Hunter and Miller are older fighters. Turki Alalshikh, of course, wants to include significant fighters to let fans log in to watch the younger talent.
