Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis says he doesn’t have Terence Crawford under his Mount Rushmore of Boxing’s greats of all time.
Crawford’s self-made Mount Rushmore campaign
Like film actors of the past who have shameless Campaign for Oscar AwardsCrawford undertook his own campaign and repeatedly said he belonged among the four big ones on the Mount Rushmore or Boxing.
Unfortunately, Crawford’s credentials are not sufficient to gain access to it exclusive country club -like establishment. Only the upper crust of box can be part of the club. They cannot just allow anyone who has only reached the minimum in their careers.
The legends boots are above Crawford
Former IBF and WBA Welterweight Champion Ennis has fighters with probably better credentials than Crawford’s:
- Sugar Ray Leonard
- Roy Jones jr.
- Pernell whitaker
- James Toney
“My opinion is, I like Roy Jones, Floyd Mayweather and Pernell Whitaker. I like Sugar Ray Leonard. I look at a little sugar Ray Leonard and James Toney. They are my best guys I have watched, ‘Jaron’ Boots’ Ennis tells IceM Sports Media When asked if he believed that Terence Crawford deserves to be placed on the Mount Rushmore of boxing after his win over Canelo Alvarez on September 13.
Were Spence and Canelo finished?
It is understandable why ‘Boots’ Ennis does not include Crawford (42-0, 31 COs) in his Mount Rushmore or Boxing, because his only significant victories have spiritual stars next to them against Canelo Alvarez and Errol Spence. Fans saw them as shells of their former self when Terence fought them.
What Crawford should do at 168 and 175
For Crawford to make it among the top 4 big ones, he will have to take the risks quickly with the time he has left in his career. In other words, make a late boom by fighting the elite at 168 and 175 against this kind of fighters:
- David benavidez
- Dmitri BIVOL
- Artur Betterbiev
- Christian Milli
- Jaron Ennis
- Lester Martinez
- Ji opea
