Coach Greg Hackett says Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis would have ended Theofimo Lopez’s career if the fight had occurred recently. He feels that the beating Lopez would have taken from Ennis. Hackett mentions that theofimo could no longer get ‘big shows’.
The champion of 140 pounds of Lopez (22-1, 13 COs) demanded a fight against IBF and WBC Welterweight Champion Ennis (34-0, 30 food), but there was no interest in the match at this time. Theofimo pointed out to get that battle.

Greg brings up a good point. Theofimo has not been impressive since his collision against Vasily Lomachenko in 2020. Even in that fight, Lopez was only impressive in the first six rounds.
