“As a result, I don’t believe Adelaide will be competing in the ‘street’ in 2027. The main challenge is not to build a street circuit, but to design a circuit that maintains MotoGP safety standards, albeit in an urban context.”

He continued, “The proposed circuit for the Adelaide GP has been immediately dubbed a road circuit, but the proposed concept for now seems reminiscent of Mandalka: a fully operational fixed circuit but located in a city park.

“Instead of calling it a street district, we can call it a permanent district in the center of the city.”
