Janibek Alimkhanuly (17-0, 12 Kos) mapped his plans for this year and aimed at unification against the middleweight champions Carlos Adames and Erislandy Lara to achieve his goal to become undisputed champion. Then in 2026, Janibek said he would go up to challenge Canelo Alvarez to become undisputed champion at Super Middleweight.
Negotiation hurdles
If Janiak fails to get the fighting against Adames and Erislandy this year, he should consider cutting his losses and moving immediately to 168 to put himself in position to fight Canelo. If Terence Crawford gets his hands on the four belts at Super Mid -Light, he will never agree to fight January, because he is not popular enough.
The 2016 Olympic Alimkhnuly has no significant victories on its nine -year Pro CV. Still, Janibek can make more money at super-middle weight than in the dead, barren weight class of 160 pounds. He would be even better to move up now if he couldn’t get a unification against Adames or Lara.
IBF and WBO mid-weight champion Alimkhanuly and WBC champion Adames (24-1-1, 18 COs) were reportedly negotiated. They will be called the Manny Pacquiao against Mario Barrios card on the Manny Pacquiao against Mario Barrios card on July Pbc ppv Card in Las Vegas. If the fight is fought, Janibek against Adames would be an excellent addition to the event and could easily exceed the collision.
Janibek’s promoters on the top rank may have trouble negotiating with a struggle with WBA champion Erislandy Lara (31-3.19 COs), because he has not fought a risky battle in 11 years since his fight against Canelo Alvarez in 2014. At 42, Lara may be reluctant to adopt a dangerous puncher like the Southpaw alimknulyuly unless the money is absurd.
Lara may feel that it is better to keep his WBA title, and continue to make a low-level title defense against fighters such as Danny Garcia, Gary ‘Spike’ O’Sullivan and Michael Zefera. The Cuban Southpaw Erislandy’s opposition since the conquest of the WBA title of 160 pounds in May 2021 was an embarrassing bad. It can take a gold mine for Lara to break out of this form of easy opposition to face the much younger and powerful January in a unification.
Limited opposition
Janibek, 32, also does not fight against major opposition. In his last four fights, he was celebrated on these easy marks:
