The Olympic and 5000m world champion has confirmed that he will perform his traditional mid-winter fitness test in Antalya on December 8.
Jakob Ingebrigtsen missed last year’s European Championships in Brussels through injury, but the Norwegian says he is looking forward to this year’s race in Antalya next month.
Posting on Instagram from his training camp, he said: I am very excited to participate in such a prestigious event with a strong Norwegian team.”
Ingebrigtsen won the under-20 title four times in 2016-2019. Post-pandemic, he then returned to win the senior men’s title in Dublin in 2021 and Turin 2022

Other athletes confirmed for the event are Yeaman Crippa and Nadia Battocletti of Italy, Jimmy Gressier of France and Nils Laros with the British team, selected after trials in Liverpool this weekend with Hugo Milner, Zak Mahamed, Will Barnicoat, Abbie Donnelly. Kate Axford, Jess Warner-Judd and Innes Fitzgerald contenders for places in the squad.
