Jake Paul will fight Gervonta Davis in an exhibition match on November 15 at Netflix in the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. The weight and round number still have to be determined.
Paul and Davis: a dangerous maladjustment
Tank Davis (30-0-1, 28 food) fights at Lightweight (135) and has the WBA title. For him to fight the 200 pound Jake Paul, it will need a catch. Even then, there will be a big difference in weight between the two fighters.
The Baltimore native Davis fought as high as Light Welterweight (140) in 2021, but he is small at 5’5 1/2 ″, and would give away a large amount of size to the 6’1 ″ 200 pound Jake Paul.
Mike Coppinger broke the news of the Paul against Davis fight. The Cruiserweight Paul (12-1, 7 COs) negotiated to fight former two-time heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua, but the talks fell apart because of ‘Network problems.’ The struggle would make more meaningful.
Given Joshua’s age and his recent knockout loss to Daniel Dubois in September, a fight between him and Jake Paul was considered potentially competitive. It was one that people believed would have the possibility of having a dismay if AJ’s Ken had abandoned him as in his co-loss to Dubois in his fifth round.
Fan anger over “Money -Grab” fighting
Fans on X respond with a lot of anger and disgust at the Paul vs. Davis Exhibition Fight. They do not consider it a sporty one and feel that it is a money grab on both their parts to milk the public from their hard -earned dollars.
Former three division Gervonta Davis has far better credentials than YouTuber-battered boxer Jake Paul. Davis’ skills are much better than his. However, the difference in size and punching power makes this battle a farce and potentially dangerous when Jake ends up one of his right hands on Gervonta’s chin.
