Jack Miller is among the riders who have demanded a minimum wage in MotoGP and the sport’s bosses have now listened.

And now, as Motorsport.comA proposal to set a minimum wage of €500k (£437k) from 2027 is in the ‘final stage’. As it stands, only LCR’s Diogo Moreira and Johan Zarco, Pramac’s Torak Razgatlioglu and the recently renewed Marco Bezecici have deals for next year.
Premier class teams must pay at least €500k to their drivers, rather than reaching that figure in bonuses. In their new deal with MotoGP Sports Entertainment (formerly known as Dorna), they have pledged to do just that.

Miller He told MotoGP officials that some of his teammates were being underpaid. Motorsport said a small fraction of the new limit included top-level drivers earning less than €120k (£105k).
Expected earnings will rise dramatically after F1 bosses get a freehold of the sport, allowing some of the smaller teams on the grid to pay higher wages.
While Miller acknowledges his job is a privilege, he points out that drivers themselves are causing lasting damage, particularly the frequency of injuries. Last year, 12 of the 22 full-time drivers missed at least one event.
“At the very least, there should be a label,” Miller said. Gypsy tales Podcast. “Some of these people are signing for nothing.
“It’s not just a full-time job, it’s a life. I believe if you’re risking your longevity – your body will never be the same… Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great job and I’ll do it for free.”
“You’re putting on a show for everybody and you’re doing these great things, you should be paid accordingly.”

Miller has been a MotoGP rider since 2015 and has represented two factory teams in that time – Ducati (2021-22) and KTM (2023-24).
The 32-year-old may have spoken to young drivers instead of pursuing his own interests when he pushed for the minimum wage.
Miller is believed to earn £2.2m a year at PramacAssuming it stays on the grid for 2027, the new rules aren’t likely to affect it.
Motorsport reports that the Motorsport Manufacturers Association (MSMA) discussed the proposal at its meeting in Thailand on Tuesday and reached the final stage before approving the minimum wage proposal.
