Earlier, after winning the toss, Sydney Sixers captain Moises Henriques revealed why he opted to bowl first in the Big Bash League 2024-25 Qualifier against Hobart. As quoted by Cricbuzz, the Australian all-rounder said during the toss: “The wicket will stay very well. It will be the person who comes and plays the best cricket tonight. It’s starting to be a trend in T20 cricket – picking the ball – to know what you’re after.

Moises Henriques further explained, “When you are bowling for the first time, it takes longer to lose the game. If you lose four quick wickets on a wicket you shouldn’t have bowled, it’s pretty easy to lose the game from there. “Maybe it’s a bit of a conservative way of thinking, but it seems to be working well.”
