Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou believes he is to blame for his side’s disappointing 2-1 defeat to newly promoted Ipswich Town.
The north London side suffered their fifth Premier League defeat on Sunday afternoon, failing to impress in a game they would have expected to take all three points from. A late effort from Rodrigo Bentancur did nothing but deny Arijanet Muric a goal with two goals from Liam Delap and Sammie Szmodics in the first half. proved enough to secure victory at Ipswich.
Postecoglou, however, has blamed his own shoulders for his team’s poor performance.
“It’s just up to me,” he said BBC Sport after Sunday’s defeat. “I’m not getting consistent performances from the players. It’s something I have to address. I’m the one responsible, so that’s usually the case. I take responsibility.
“We can’t give ourselves those kinds of mountains to climb.”
The Spurs boss also analyzed his team’s performance Tottenham Show reviews, continuing: “It was very disappointing and, from my point of view, unacceptable, because we started the game towards the levels we needed to and gave ourselves a mountain to climb.
“In the second half, we had the promotion and enough opportunities to get the job done, but we didn’t do enough.
“Without the ball we were too passive, we allowed them to get comfortable, and that’s what we don’t want to do when we’re at home, especially, and we paid a price for that.”
