Moses Itauma says he deliberately comes over as “dry” during interviews because he does not want to argue with “fools”.
Undefeated, highly rated heavyweight contender Itauma (13-0, 11 KOs) has been criticized by fans as lacking charisma, characterless and boring to listen to. Some people say that 20-year-old Itauma always looks tired, and that they feel sleepy after listening to him.
Queensberry-promoted Itauma is being tipped as the next superstar in the heavyweight division. He is on the verge of fame but needs the fights against the top fighters like Oleksandr Usyk, Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury to become a household name.
“Do you know why I get so dry in interviews? The reason I do it is because if you argue with a fool, it makes two,” said Moses Itauma. iFL TVand explains why he comes across as wooden and dull during interviews.
As the sleepy Itauma spoke, one could tell he was bothered by fans commenting on him coming across as dull during interviews.
“The problem is with boxing, not many people who are in this sport know about boxing. So, that’s why I’m like, ‘You’re correct,’ because I can’t be bothered. I actually can’t be bothered to correct my opinion. Another quote. You can silence 50 scholars with one fact, but you can’t silence a fool with 50 facts.
“Even if I shout out valid points, you guys don’t want to listen anyway. So, I just do my thing,” Itauma said.
