Ishan Kishan smashed a record-breaking century as the Vijay Hazare Trophy witnessed a historic batting day



Indian domestic cricket witnessed an extraordinary chapter on Wednesday as explosive batting displays between venues turned the competition open. 2025–26 Vijay Hazare Trophy became a record-breaking performance. Kishan, who faced Karnataka for Jharkhand, made a breathtaking late attack after coming in at No.6. Kumar Kushagra and immediately changed gears with a fearless stroke.

Kishan reached his half-century in just 20 balls before unleashing a ruthless six-hitting spree. He brought up his century by smashing seven sixes and two fours in a 13-ball blast and sent the Karnataka bowlers into shock. The left-hander eventually hit seven fours and 14 powerful sixes to finish with a blistering 125 off just 39 deliveries. Jharkhand piled up a mammoth 412 for 8 after being asked to bat first, with Kishan’s knock completely tilting the contest.
