BRASS MONKEY HALF-MARATHON, York, North Yorkshire, 18 January
After dominating the Yorkshire Cross Country Championships the day before, the city of Leeds fielded more runners here and theirs was Gavin Taylor who won the overall by over a minute in 65:05.
This was ahead of Airy’s George Ravenhall, with another Leeds man, Gavin Chalmers, a close third.
In the women’s race, leading veteran and England master Lindsey Skinner clocked 76:48.

Scottish invader Kevin Campbell, who ran the Larne half marathon in 65:34 back in August, led all the locals to win overall in 29:19.
Behind, Chris Coulson improved his personal best by 12 seconds in 29:35 ahead of third-placed Dominic Jones in 29:47.
For the women, Megan Stenhouse was 14 seconds off her best, set in Clitheroe in December, in 34:30, ahead of W40 best Rachel Brown’s 34:41, just two seconds off her best in the same race.
