Is Terence Crawford’s success manufactured? Davis’s Snac raises and questionable opponent list

Gervonta Davis is questioning how Terence Crawford has found so much success for the past 11 years without being “cut” since he was injured in his fight against Yuriorkis Gamboa in 2014. He suspects that Crawford’s involvement in Snac has led to his success.

What is overlooked is that the poor opposition Crawford (41-0, 31 COs) has been fighting since 2014. His resume is weak, filled with crop, and fights on their last legs, average fighters that were nowhere near A-Class.

Every fighter Crawford has on his resume against Jaron Ennis and Vergil Ortiz. If they fought the same guys, they would have the same record of 41-0 as Crawford, but they would have more knockouts and be bigger stars because of their more entertaining styles.

Crawford’s “luck”

Crawford is fortunate that Turki Alalshikh emerged when he did, because if not, he never fought against Israil Madrimov and made a bundle of dough, and he would not fight against Canelo Alvarez on September 13. Alvarez would never have fought Crawford if he had not offered massive money.

No promoter on earth would pay Canelo and Crawford the kind of money they would get for a fight. It is not a game that buys a lot of PPV. Crawford’s last fight against Madrimov reportedly brought in between 75,000 and 100,000 purchase on Dazn PPV. It was with a loaded card.
