Thomas Lamanna believes he will catch the former World Champion of two divisions, Jermall Charlo, at the right moment and will upset him in Las Vegas on May 31. Lamanna (39-5-1, 18 COs) compares his situation with where Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero was when he was selected as a vote for Ryan Garcia. He believes that he can defeat the inactive Charlo (33-0, 22 COs) in the same way in a Rolly-Esque event.

Charlo has not fought since 2023, and he has been out of the ring for two years. This is a lot of inactivity for everyone, especially a fighter who becomes 35 on May 19. He does not yet live the cleanest life in those years of inactivity.
In Jermall’s last fight against Jose Banavidez Jr., he watched about 70% of what he was when he was in his lead in 2020. Now, with him returning after another extensive dismissal, 50% maybe all that is left.
The hustle and bustle plan
It may not be enough for Charlo to defeat the highly motivated Lamanna, which will push the whole battle and push a fast pace. This is how Jermall struggled in his fight against Juan Macias Montiel. The Mexican Slugger was out of his league talent, but Montiel fought quickly and carried Charlo.
The only thing that Jermall saved was that his power was away in the later rounds. Some fans believe that Jermall has not been the same fighter since the Montiel fight not because of the punishment he sustained.
“This is an opportunity of a lifetime against a former world champion with two divisions, who is not who he used to be. We’ve all seen what happened to Rolly last week, ‘Thomas Lamanna said Fight Hub TV about his belief that he will upset Jermall Charlo on May 31. “We upset the apple cart. It’s not going to be nothing else on the 31st. ‘
Jermall uses Lamanna, 33, as a bridge to prepare him for a larger, more critical fight against Caleb plant. The match will pay Charlo well, and according to him, he leads to a fight against Canelo Alvarez. He was given the opportunity to fight Canelo two years ago when it was offered. His brother, Jermell Charlo, fought and acted terribly for 12 rounds.
“The key to success is activity. Jermall is fighting against the wheat flake of now. I’m wiser, older and much more experienced. I gained the momentum he didn’t get. It’s also his first fight at 168,” Lamanna said. “Punch him in the mouth,” Lamanna says of what his strategy is to defeat Charlo on May 31.
