IPL 2026: Fans go crazy as clinical Rajasthan Royals beat Chennai Super Kings in Guwahati

Rajasthan Royals (RR) the team showed performance to defeat Chennai Super Kings (CSK) By 8 wickets in the 3rd match IPL 2026 at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati. Opting to bowl first after winning the toss, Rajasthan finessed their plans by restricting CSK to a modest total before chasing them down with ease.

The match never reached a competitive balance as Rajasthan controlled proceedings from the start. Their bowlers dismantled CSK’s batting line-up and the batting ensured there were no hiccups in the chase.

This comprehensive win not only gives Rajasthan an early boost in the tournament but also poses a major concern for CSK who are struggling in all departments.

CSK collapse as RR bowlers run riot

Batting first, CSK endured a dreadful outing, scoring just 127 in 19.4 overs. The innings never gained momentum, with wickets falling regularly.

Sanju Samson, played as a batter, put up a brief resistance with 67 but lacked support from the rest of the squad. Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad struggled to find a rhythm, managing just 6 runs while the other batsmen failed to contribute meaningfully.

The Rajasthan bowling attack was relentless. Jofra Archer struck out early, struck out key batters and set the tone. Nandre Burger completed it brilliantly, taking important wickets and keeping the pressure on.

Spinners also played an important role. Ravi Bishnoi and Ravindra Jadeja stifled the flow of runs in the middle overs, ensuring that CSK never built a partnership.

Despite Jamie Overton’s late cameo, CSK could not recover and ended with a below-par total that always looked inadequate on a good batting surface.

Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi lead RR’s easy chase

Chasing 128, RR made light work of the target, Ending at 128/2 in just 12.1 overs. The chase was defined by aggressive intent and smart shot selection.

Young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal anchored the innings with an unbeaten 38, providing stability at the top. However, the real fireworks came from Vaibhav Sooryavanshi who dismantled the CSK bowling attack with a knock of 52 off just 17 balls.

The duo added a quick 75-run partnership that effectively sealed the match in the powerplay phase. Their aggressive approach put CSK on the back foot early and left little room for a comeback.

CSK managed to grab two wickets through Anshul Kamboj but was already injured. Captain Riyan Parag calmly completed the chase along with Jaiswal and ensured there were no late turns.
