Delhi Capitals probable retention for IPL 2025
Despite his current salary of INR 16 crore, Pant’s earnings are expected to increase significantly due to pending changes in retention rules by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The Capitals’ decision to retain Pant underscores their commitment to building a strong core team around the talented young cricketer.
As reported by Cricbuzz, the Delhi-based franchise is also set to retain key players like Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav. On the international front, Jake Fraser-McGurk and Tristan Stubbs are expected to remain with the Capitals. If the BCCI allows the retention of a non-wicket player, wicketkeeper Abhishek Porel is a likely candidate.
While the BCCI initially planned to release the retention rules by the end of August, there have been delays in the process. However, the final guidelines, including the Right to Adaptation (RTM) provision, are expected to be released in the coming days.
