Insiders have named 3 teams interested in Alex Bregman

Major League Baseball’s offseason is heating up as more and more big-name players sign with new teams in free agency or are traded.

After top free agent prospect Juan Soto signed with the New York Mets, it appears that teams are now more willing to go after the remaining free agents available.

While some stars have already signed with new teams, including Max Fried, Blake Snell and Willie Adams, there are plenty of big names left on the table.

One of them is Houston Astros third baseman Alex Bregman, and an MLB insider has identified three teams interested in him.

“Those three big-market teams — the Astros, the (New York) Yankees, the (Boston) Red Sox — all have the potential to match Alex Bregman,” John Morosi said, via MLB Network.

Morozzi names those American League teams as potential fits for Bregman, especially the Red Sox because of his ability to play multiple positions.

Another point Morozzi made was keeping track of Astros outfielder Kyle Tucker, who was just traded to the Chicago Cubs.

Houston received Isaac Paredes in return, and he could replace Bregman at third base.

Both the Yankees and Red Sox were involved in the Soto sweepstakes, so they could pursue Bregman after letting the outfielder go.

In 2024, Bregman hit .260 with 26 home runs, 75 RBI and a .768 OPS.

The All-Star and Gold Glove winner could be the difference, and he’ll be a free agent to keep an eye on until he signs with someone.
