The New York Yankees are making a lot of noise this offseason, even though they missed out on a chance to bring back Juan Soto.
Although Soto ended up signing with the New York Mets, the Yankees added three key players to their roster for the 2025 season.
The acquisitions include the signing of free agent starting pitcher Max Fried from the Atlanta Braves, a trade for Devin Williams from the Milwaukee Brewers and a trade for outfielder Cody Bellinger from the Chicago Cubs.
MLB insider Ken Rosenthal said he doesn’t believe the Yankees are done yet.
“The Yankees are looking at an increasingly cheaper option (at first base),” Rosenthal said, via Foul Territory .

The Yankees need a first baseman, but Rosenthal said they will pursue one of the cheaper options rather than an elite position player like Pete Alonso of the Mets.
Rosenthal mentions some trade options at the position, including Carlos Santana of the Minnesota Twins and Josh Naylor of the Cleveland Guardians.
The Yankees could also move Bellinger to first base if they wanted to take a different approach.
With plenty of options and players still on the table, the Yankees will continue to be a team to watch as the season progresses.
They will look to win back-to-back AL East titles and win their first World Series title since 2009.
