The Chicago White Sox are coming off their worst season in franchise history.

They won just 41 games in 2024 while losing a whopping 121 games, the worst record in Major League Baseball.

The White Sox will hire a new manager before the 2025 season in hopes of turning things around and heading into the 2024 season.

According to MLB insider Jon Heyman, the three candidates remaining for the job include Phil Nevin, Will Venable and Grady Sizemore.

Pedro Grifol was the White Sox manager in 2023 and part of 2024 before being fired and replacing Sizemore for the rest of the season.

Sizemore played 10 seasons in the MLB before becoming interim manager of the White Sox in 2024.

Nevin managed the Los Angeles Angels in 2022 and 2023 and is believed to be in the running for the White Sox job.

Venable is currently on the staff of the Texas Rangers and is the third candidate for the position.

The White Sox’s decision on who they hire will be something to watch this offseason as they look to bounce back for the 2025 season.

Whoever fills that job will have their work cut out for them, as three of the five American League Central teams made the postseason in 2024.

The White Sox appear to need to make some moves this offseason to get their pitching staff up to a competitive level.

They will try to return to the playoffs in 2025, having not made the postseason since 2021, when they won the American League Central.
