Play enough golf at Florida And you come to learn how many are: countless flat roads, palm, condos, carriages trails, repeat. Stereotypes are stubborn for a reason. But they hold no shaking in Cabot Citrus Farms.
A destination resort on the Florida Nature Coast, a historically rich region of orange orchards, Cabot Citrus Farms sits on a sandy canvas, pine sand, palmetos and moss -up to oaks. The atmosphere is rich but underestimated. The equipment is modern, but the property has a blurred and reversible air. And golf is a classic and contemporary mix, a showcase in all its beauty and variety, unlike any in the state of the Sun.

Anchoring it is all four courses, two of which are-gelli and caro-present with 18 holes that offer a persuasive contrast study. Roost is more traditional in inspiration. A rare collaboration of three architects from various firms (Mike Nuzzo, Kyle Franz and Rod Whitman, contributing from former Golf Morrissett Golf Architecture Redactor), it moves easily to a clumsy landscape, with wide, fiery corridors and rustic bunkering for sand work Alister MacKenzie. Karoo is something of a wild sister, cut through debris with sand and cleaned wine, with lifts, auspicious street shots in all large directions and greens, dramatically contoured. Frannz, who designed it Solo, describes it as “Golf Adventure”.
If the roosters and the karoo are all the golf you can eat, the squeezing and the wedge serve the game in parts of the bite size. Both are short-first courses a charming collection, with 10 PAR-3 and PAR-4S holes, the latter a PAR-3 course with 19 holes that requires enough for a betting match, but just as suitable for a barefoot round in hand. Like the most practical practice range and the short play area, the wedge is also illuminated for the night game.
As its name suggests, Citrus Farms is part of PortfolioA collection of golf and real estate developments that were born in Nova Scotia, with Cabot Cape Breton, and has since expanded from Canada to Caribbean, Scotland and beyond. In accordance with its brand, citrus farms are numerous in supplements outside the course. Dining options run the range from the kitchen farm to the table in Grange Hall, a central restaurant that is open for lunch and morning dinner, on pizza pizza on the porch, an outdoor hanging in a high property, furnished with picnics tables and adirondack chairs.
The surrounding property, meanwhile, invites a series of non-Golf activities, as well as: hiking, bike, skeet shooting, bow, throwing ax, bass fishing, and, although there is no location against the beginning with friends and drinks.
On a recent trip Cabot Citrus Farms, Golf.com tried it all, experiencing courses, kitchens, accommodations and more at a destination in Florida, unlike any other. For an in -depth account of our visit, watch the video on youtube above.
