In a long overdue battle, the undisputed Superbantamweight Champion Naoya Inoue (30-0, 27 costs) and WBA champion Murodjon Akhmadaliev (14-1, 11 COs) were officially introduced in the Ig Arena in Nagoya, Japan on September 14. An agreement has been reached, and the two want eventually meet.
Inoue vs. akhmadaliev: fight preview
Former IBF and WBA 122-pound champion Akhmadaliev, 30, is the last obstacle to Inoue before facing Junto Nakatani in a big fight that would attract interest worldwide.
However, the 2016 bronze medalist Akhmadaliev was able to spoil the plans by beating Inoue, which looked vulnerable in his last fight against Ramon Cardenas. Inoue was in round two of a large left hook from Cardenas, and might have been dropped again if the Mexican Slugger had a better accuracy. Inoue just shot a lot of Cardenas’ big home game.
Akhmadaliev has won his last three fights since he first lost against Marlon Tapales by a 12-round decision in 2023. The battle was a grueling war. It is possible that Akhmadaliev would knock out tapes if they fight again, because he traced a lot of punishment and softened him for Inoue, who knocked him out in the tenth round in his next fight.
Inoue (32) begins to show his age, and he was not in a hurry to move to 126 to tackle the killers in that section. The four champions at featherweight await Naoya, and many of the contenders are too. They want the big payday that comes from the fight against Inoue. If one of them can be the first to defeat the Japanese star, it can lead them to earn millions in a re -broadcast.
Fans noted that Inoue has followed his record since 2024, against the opposition that has little threatened to hit him. They see how he has been playing it safely since the difficult time he had in 2023 with his fighting against Stephen Fulton and Tapales.
