Indian-origin US cricketer Saurabh Netrawalkar feels he has lost out on the IPL 2025 auction.



Native of India USA a cricketer Saurabh Netrawalkar also shared his opinion about not being sold Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 auction with a base price of INR 30 lakh. Despite being one of the promising players in the international circuit, Netrawalkar’s name failed to make it to the final list of IPL 2025.

Netrawalkar expressed gratitude for being shortlisted in the final auction list and admitted that while he had hopes, the player pool was highly competitive and many top players did not make the cut. He is looking forward to a season that promises high quality cricket and plans to work hard to improve and come back stronger next year.

Firstly, we are grateful that you have been shortlisted in the final auction list. Yes, the child in me had hopes! But it was a high-quality player pool, so high-level players were uncut, so I totally understand. I’m looking forward to what I’m sure will be a season full of cricket of the highest quality and personally I’ll try to work harder and get better and hopefully come back stronger next year”, Netravalkar told Times of India in an exclusive interview.

Netrawalkar’s talent is undeniable, especially after his heroics ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. During the upcoming historic match PakistanTeam USA managed to win by just 5 runs in a thrilling Super Over, with Netrawalkar himself bowling the decisive Super Over for his side. His performance was instrumental in the U.S. victory, a display of his immense skill and composure under pressure that earned him recognition on the world stage.

Netrawalkar’s journey in cricket began in India, where he played for the Indian under-19 team and became the highest wicket-taker in India. 2010 ICC Under-19 World Cup in New ZealandWith 9 doors. However, his cricketing journey took an international turn in 2015 when he moved to the US for higher studies. He made his US national team debut in March 2019 and has since established himself as one of the team’s key players.

Netrawalkar has had a remarkable career in both One Day Internationals (ODIs) and T20 Internationals (T20Is) so far. In ODIs, he played 56 matches, taking 88 wickets at an impressive average of 22.32. Meanwhile, in T20Is, he played 36 matches and scored 36 wickets. His leadership qualities have also been recognized as he has captained the US team in several matches, demonstrating his tactical skills and experience on the field.
