Amla leaves virat kohli despite his legendary record

Amla’s list raised eyebrows as it did not feature Kohli, one of the most successful Test trendsetters of the modern generation. Known for his intensity, fitness and remarkable consistency, Kohli is India’s run machine across formats. In an undisputed Test career, Kohli amassed 9,230 runs in 3,230 matches in 123 matches at 46.85, including 30 centuries and 31 fifties.

Kohli’s reign as captain was equally historic, with his double centuries against the likes of South Africa, England and Sri Lanka standing as a testament to his class and mental toughness.

However, Amla’s inactivity of Kohli can be viewed through the lens of recent developments as the Indian legend retired from Test cricket earlier this year after a glorious chapter of more than a decade.
