Cheteshwar Pujara picks the batting order for Dhruv Jurel
Veteran Indian fruit Cheteshwar Pujara Dhruv Jurel provided support to maintain his solid form and secure a place in India’s XI for the first Test. Speaking to JioHotstar, Pujara revealed that the young wicketkeeper-batsman has shown remarkable growth and temperament, especially during pressure situations.

Pujara feels the No. 6 position is the best fit for Jurel in the current team set-up. With a middle order that needs stability and the ability to build partnerships, the spot provides the ideal balance for a wicketkeeper-batsman who can shift gears when needed.
“I believe it will sink in six, that’s my guess” Pujara emphasized that the awareness and adaptability of Jurel’s game made him a natural fit for this batting slot.
The big batter also shed light on India’s likely bowling combination for the first Test. Given the conditions at the Eden Gardens, Pujara expects to rely heavily on India’s spin department.
“Depending on the pitch, India will probably go with three spinners and two seamers. I can see the team coming together and how Jurel fits in with Xi.” He explained, suggesting a historically effective strategy in India’s home Tests.
