As Alam relished his once-in-a-lifetime achievement of dismissing Kohli, it became even more special when Kohli himself admitted how well the ball was hit. The young pacer from Lucknow, understandably excited, later shared details of the memorable interaction with the former India captain. Alam revealed that he bowled 24 deliveries to Kohli at around 135 kmph and managed to dismiss him twice during the session. After the net practice, Kohli asked Alam his age and praised his bowling.
“I bowled 24 balls to Virat Kohli. My speed was 135 km/h and I took it out twice. While the Kanpur pitch usually favors spinners, the practice pitch favored pacers. Virat Kohli said to me, ‘Well bowled bhai, kitne saal ke ho?’ (How old are you?). I told him I was 22 years old. He replied that labor karte raho (keep working). It happened to me after I fired him.” Alam reported this with reference to Hindustan Times.
