Portugal Jaime Faria It was barely within 400 best this time last year. The Change Affairs makes a year for the growing talent, which is now expected to make his 100th 100th debut after reaching his first career at the ATP quarterfinal on Thursday in Rio.
Faria, who took part of Novak Gjokovic in the second round in Australian Open this year, defeated Jaume Munar, 6-4, 2-6, 6-3.
It is up to no.87 in the live ranking as a result, and will join Nuno Borges (currently 37 in the live rankings) as the second man within 100 cannons from Portugal on Monday.

The birth of Lisbon did not own an ATP level victory, until he defeated Pavel Kotov in Melbourne last month, but he made 53 wins at Challenger’s level last year. Faria played seven different finals in 2024, and won six of them, including four at the Challenger level.
He is an electric power plant who actually performed better in strong courts than the one in Clay last year.
While demonstrating in Rio, he also knows his way around the mud. He hit 35 winners against the 49 winners against Munar, who received only 11 winners against 18 forced errors.
“I’m very happy,” he said. “In these tournaments it is easier to find motivation to get back stronger and give everything I have on my feet and in my head.
“I think faith is the word. I think my level is there, and it was there last year. I have so much confidence and so many victories – let’s keep it that way. “
Faria will face his lucky loser Camilo Ugo Carabelli for a place in the semifinals on Friday in Rio.
