Alex de minaur – like everyone else in tours not called Alcaraz – there is a problem by Jannik Sinner.
Aussie kidnapped a set against high-flight Italian for the second time in their 11 meetings, but could not hold his momentum while the sinner attacked the last set to block his place in China’s Open final, 6-6, 6-2, in two hours and 20 minutes.
The sinner becomes the second man to reach three consecutive finals in the Chinese capital, as he reaches his ninth consecutive court final and improves at 22-2 on the surface this year.
Italy’s belt for the successive finals of the strong court reached is now linked for the fourth in the history of the open era.
Only Alcaraz has managed to defeat the four -time champion in the difficult courts in 2025.
Moreover, Sinner has won each of his last 13 ATP semifinal, and becomes the youngest player to reach that feat since Roger Federer in 2006.
The sinner, who has received 25 of the 27 groups of the couple, survived an attempt inspired by Aussie and Eighth Rang. De Minaur was harshly hanged in the middle set and eventually spread when he slammed a predetermined winner in the corner of the court with the sinner serving 4-5, 30-40. He shared his winner with a fist pump saying the game.
“I felt like he served excellently,” Sinner said. “At a great pace and also accuracy. He was coming back very well. I was serving very well today, so he neutralized my service very well. I just tried to stay focused – it was a very difficult match today, so I’m very happy.”
The short -lived repetition ended quickly, as the sinner retreated in love in the next match, attracting a backward winner below the line to open the score in set three. The Italian rescued a trio of resting points to hold for 2-0 and broke up at 15 in the next match to lead 3-0.
“In the third set I tried to raise my level,” Sinner said. “I broke it too early, which gave me confidence.”
Sinner ended with 28 winners in 19 for De Minaur, including 15 outside the predecessor side.
The Italian kept his advantage the rest of the road and closed his victory without drama, reaching his 30th ATP career final – he will face either Daniil Medvedev or student Tien for the title on Wednesday. The big champion has reached the final in seven of the eight events he played in 2025.
