Pakistan has been thrown into a state of disbelief following a series of explosive allegations made by the cricketing world. Sannia Ashfaqex-wife of the all-round star Imad Wasim. In a series of scathing social media statements, Ashfaq has leveled harsh accusations against the cricketer, from emotional abandonment to what he described as a “murderous” act of a forced medical procedure. The controversy quickly spilled over into the sports pages, sparking a national conversation about accountability, the private lives of public icons and protecting women’s rights in high-profile marriages.
Sannia summoned Ashfaq Mohsin Naqvi and Shehbaz Sharif regarding the allegations against Imad Wasim
Breaking her silence months after her divorce in December 2025, Ashfaq released a deeply personal video statement that has since gone viral. The basis of their complaints is a traumatic event that happened in December 2023. Ashfaq claims she was forced to have an abortion and describes the experience as a source of deep physical and emotional scars. According to Ashfaq, the procedure was not her choice, and the subsequent lack of support from her husband compounded an already devastating situation.
“I make this video with great courage because I want the truth for my children and justice for the lost life.He claims to have documented evidence of these incidents and has openly appealed to the highest authorities in the country.
Ashfaq specially called Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). Mohsen Naqviand Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif focusing on his plight. He is demanding an official investigation into the matter, insisting his prosecution is more about “respect and accountability” than personal vendetta. He further urged the Islamabad United franchise to review the behavior of its players and stressed that no woman should have to endure such silenced suffering.
“He is a killer…”: Ashfaq’s allegations against Imaad and WhatsApp revelations
The controversy turned darker when Ashfaq shared a third post on Wednesday, openly labeling the cricketer a “murderer” over the lost pregnancy. To substantiate his claims, he released screenshots of WhatsApp chats. Allegedly, these messages show Wasim’s lack of empathy during pregnancy. Ashfaq claims she faced legal threats instead of comfort while carrying her child and seeking emotional support.
Screenshots show that when she contacted Wasim to share the vulnerability of her pregnancy, he threatened to file a harassment case against her if he continued to contact her. “I just asked him to see his own son… and instead he threatened me“, he wrote.
Ashfaq’s story paints a picture of a systematic “negative campaign” against him on social media to silence him. By coming forward now, she claims that her main motivation is her children’s future, and to ensure that the “truth” behind the breakdown of her marriage and the loss of her unborn child is acknowledged by both the public and the authorities.
