I’ve been helping men dress for years and if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that dressing is one LOT passionate topic. People like what they like. However, this does not mean that what we like looks good or of good quality. Poles are the foundation of a golf wardrobe. And if you’re looking for a guide to the best golf polo shirts you can buy, look no further.
With that said, this is not why we are here today. We’re here to get a little controversial and help you shop for the best polos. Without further ado, here are five polos I’d buy and five I wouldn’t.
Five polos I would buy
quince it’s become a bit of golf wear dear. from cashmere sweater THE pants THE polesthey really have your entire golf wardrobe covered. of Travelers Stretch Pique Polo it’s a nice departure from Quince’s Flowknit Breeze Performance Polowhich is more in line with what you would expect from a typical performance shirt.
Commuter Stretch blends the best of both worlds and gives you a textured pique polo with the stretch, cooling and moisture wicking properties of a performance shirt. I’m a firm believer that golf shirts (and shirts in general) benefit immensely from some sort of texture – they feel better and look better. This shirt checks both boxes. It is also $29.90. At that price, it’s an easy yes.
Another brand that is taking the golf world by storm is Harleston. Based in Charleston, SC, it’s one of the hottest apparel brands on the golf course right now. of Cypress Long Sleeve Polo is another textured option that looks great, feels premium and offers real versatility. As a long-sleeve shirt, it’s a perfect option for cold, windy or unpredictable rounds – spring golf in a nutshell.

It’s simple. B. Draddy makes great clothing. Speaking from personal experience, Graham Polo it’s a shirt that I would buy without hesitation and would do again. What attracts you is the elongated pocket and the jacket. What’s great about the fitted sheet is that, visually, it elongates your bust, which flatters any shape. And if you like being able to go full Keith Michell and unbutton an extra button or two, this is the shirt for you. The flap pocket is also a welcome throwback to polos from the golden age of golf, adding extra character. of Graham it is truly remarkable.
Maybe it’s my preppy nature, but any time I get a button-down collar on a shirt, I’m in heaven. of Holderness & Bourne Burton shirt it’s great if you really think about it. They’ve found a way to marry a button-down oxford shirt, polka dot polo and a performance golf shirt, turning it into a true lifestyle staple.
As you probably know by now, I’m a big believer in having a versatile wardrobe, meaning that what you wear on the course should be able to be worn and look stylish anywhere. of Burton shirt is the embodiment of that philosophy. While on the pricier side at $130, if you’re someone who breaks down your clothing shopping by cost per outfit, this will more than pay for itself.
of Johnnie-O Stetson Stripe Performance Mesh Polo is another textured choice that’s worth every penny. I’m not quite sure what it is, but the azalea color catches my eye in a way that keeps drawing me back. It looks fantastic in person; The pictures really don’t do it justice. For a shirt that looks this good, it wears even better. I have mentioned Stetson Stripe ago, and it’s one of my favorite polos for a reason.
Five polos I would absolutely NOT buy
Let’s get controversial! I really, and I mean really, don’t like it Rhoback at all. I know a lot of people love them and, as I mentioned, we like what we like. With that said, I don’t think the quality of their polos comes anywhere close to the price.
both quince AND Uniqlo’s polos are a fraction of the price and feel, look and perform better. At more than $100, Rhoback’s polos are 100 percent synthetic, meaning they have nothing special for them. I have a special kind of grudge against them Basket Bev Basket. If you’re wearing this, you should probably rethink your golf priorities. Regardless, if you like Rhoback and want this shirt, you do.
2. Bogey Bros. Birdie Finger Polo
In the words of Sabrina Carpenter, please, please, please, don’t wear polos like this. If you do, there is one really good chance you’re the guy yelling “get in the hole” after a tee shot on a par-5.
Seriously, these kind of polos don’t look good ANYONE. Also, to put things into perspective, this shirt is 70 dollars. These polos are worth nowhere near that. I’m not even including a “buy” link here. If you want to buy this, I’ll let you find it yourself.
I almost feel bad for J. Lindberg. They make some really interesting and unorthodox pieces – I mean, they really think outside the box a lot of times. The unfortunate thing is that most of their designs are just … bad.
of Tour Print Poloworn by Viktor Hovland last week during The Players Championship, is supposed to be an ode to the Masters. Instead, it comes across as a confused, digital mess. At $125, you can spend your money better elsewhere.
out Standard collection of coralsI’m not the biggest fan of Sun Day Red. Their clothes are expensive and mostly uninspired. One of their worst designs is Allover Icon Polo. It’s funny because when Sun Day Red first launched, one of the biggest complaints was that none of their clothing featured the Tiger logo. So they thought the best way to fix it was to make a shirt with the Tiger logo on it. That’s a cool $130 fiddle.
I’ll be the first to admit that I’m a staunch NIKE hater. I honestly believe that they are one of the most overrated brands of all time and that their stuff is of poor quality. It’s not just that terrible shirtNIKE is charging $120 for a polyester shirt. There is no world where this shirt is worth the price. Please take my advice: don’t buy this.
