While some golfers want maximum distance from a hybrid, others care more putting the ball and holding the greens. If this is a club you rely on for approach shots, the clean swing can work against you.
Using raw data from MyGolfSpy 2025 Hybrid Testingwe focused on descent angle, peak height and spin rate to identify the hybrids that players found easiest to stop on the green. These four stood out.
TaylorMade Qi35 Max

Qi35 Max paired high-end overall performance with one of the highest flights on test. It produced the highest tip height at 26.97 yards and a descent angle of 40.06 degrees while still maintaining solid carry distance at just over 179 yards. Spin was above average at 3,724 rpm, helping the shots land steeper without being overly short.
This explains why Qi35 Max ranks near the top for forgiveness and accuracy. It’s a good fit for players who want a hybrid that carries well but is easier to stop on approach shots.
Srixon ZXi

Srixon ZXi distinguished for balance. It produced a descent angle of 38.60 degrees and peak height of 25.40 yards while still carrying the ball nearly 179 yards. The 3,619-rpm spin supported a softer landing without pushing it into a high-revving, short-haul profile.
This equal distribution appeared in the note. ZXi it performed well in terms of accuracy, distance and forgiveness, making it a solid option for players who want stopping power without obvious trade-offs elsewhere.
GT1 title

GT1 it leaned more towards control than distance. It produced a 39.40-degree descent angle, 25.39 yards of maximum height and one of the highest spin speeds in the test. These features helped the shots slow down quickly on the green.
The carrying distance was an average of 174 meters which was withdrawn GT1 lower in distance ranking, but consistent with its forgiveness-focused profile.
Orca RSX

Orca RSX was the most specialized option in the test. It led the field in backspin at 4,306 rpm and produced the steepest descent angle at 40.55 degrees along with a maximum height of over 26 yards.
While it was the best overall for forgiveness, those numbers came with sacrifices. RSX it was shorter and less accurate than most of the field. It is best suited for players who value durability and stopping power more than maximum distance.
