I love Witb Tour’s videos but it’s not because of the clubs.
What I am really hearing are those small hidden parts of Pro Tour when talking about their bag. Sometimes it is about preparation. Sometimes it is a decision -making. Sometimes it’s just about how they think through a round of golf.
Bud Cauley recently traversed his 2025 Witb title and here’s what I learned.
The ball is the most important part of the equipment – and you don’t have to change it often
Cauley clearly said: Golf ball is the only part of the gears you use in every blow.
He emphasized how much he values familiarity with his ball: the same rotation, the same sensation, the same trajectory window every time. In addition, Cauley mentions that the change of balls very often presents variables you do not want.
Amateurs often buy golf balls on sale or try any new model, but this creates a lot of discrepancies.
Trajectory check> Raw distance

Some clubs make it easier to hit a certain form than others. You may not need to be able to form the ball with each club in your bag. Instead, understand which clubs make it easier to get the shape you want.
Familiarity builds confidence
You know we are all about data and numbers, showing you what works and what not. However, more than once, Cauley mentions how long he has played certain clubs. He does not keep them in the bag because they are better than new models; He’s just safe with them.

Build your bag for the courses you play
Cauley does not hold a 3-iron OR a full-time 5-derler. It rolls them depending on the conditions, especially the wind. When it is breeze and low shots are essential, the 3-hook enters. If it is a course that requires height and retention, 5-druit is the club he carries.
Putting your bag should not be fixed. Adjust the course, the weather and how you are playing that week.
Wedge grinds matters – but only if you know why
Instead of receiving only the bounce numbers, Cauley chose each quarrel based on how it moves through the ground. He explained why wedge chips with 56 degrees, but not to 48, and how 60l with low jump helps it in tight lies, stronger bunkers, even harsh.

Witbs are easy to move and focus only on clubs in the bag and even specifications. But the true value? In the way the tournament players think about their equipment. Bud Cauley simply taught some great lessons on how to build a purse on purpose and most of it had nothing to do with the clubs themselves.
