The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 suffered a fresh setback as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) flatly rejected Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) demand for neutral venues for future ICC tournaments to be hosted. Indiaon the grounds that there is no security threat in the country.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has made it clear to the International Cricket Council (ICC) that any bid for neutral venues in return for the demand for a hybrid model for the Champions Trophy 2025 is unacceptable.

Reportedly, the BCCI emphasizes that safety and security conditions in India are very strong, so there is no basis for such arrangements for Pakistan in future ICC tournaments.
A Telegraph report said: “The BCCI has sent a clear message to the ICC brass on this issue, which has led to a new impasse. The BCCI’s contention is simple – there is no security threat in India and therefore accepting such a deal is out of the question.
