After representing his parents’ homeland Haiti in the 2016 Olympics, Richardson Hitchins became pro the following year when he reported with Mayweather promotions. Five years after his pro career, Hitchins felt that a change was needed, because he decided to get an agreement with Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Boxing.

Hitchins remained active, and as a member of his new promotional company, he collected four rapid victories. On December 7, 2024, Richardson Hitchins traveled to San Juan, Puerto Rico, to turn one of his dreams into a reality.

In his match against defending champion Liam Paro, Hitchins took over during the center of the fight. After the 12-round competition, one judge scored the match in favor of Paro, but the scorecard was rejected by the other two judges, both of which scored 116-112 in favor of Hitchins.

With the victory of the Split Decision, Richardson Hitchins became the new IBF Super-Lightweight World Champion. Now on his home grounds, Hitchins is ready to make his first world title defense against a man who is used to playing the spoilage role.

In November 2021, George Kambosos Jr. previously introduced himself to the mainstream when he upset Theofimo Lopez via split decision and won the Unified Lightweight World title. The native of Sydney, Australia, would continue to defend his title at home and suffer back-to-back losses from Devin Haney.

Kambosos would have another fight against a well -known opponent, but unfortunately he was stopped by Vasiliy Lomachenko in the 11th round. Kambosos jumped back by achieving a unanimous victory over fellow -aussie boxer Jake Wyllie.

Now, 31-year-old George Kambosos JR is ready for his opportunity to become a two-weight world champion. This fight against Hitchins will also give Kambosos the chance to prove that he is not a miracle.

Richardson Hitchins is a boxing technician who has an elite stitch, and he uses it to set up his offense. Hitchins have excellent accuracy, good footwork, he is definitely responsible, and he is able to fight from the outside or inside of the bag.

The challenger, George Kambosos, is shaky on defense, but he has a solid stitch, quick hands and a good variation of combinations. Kambosos is able to push forward and fight off the lead foot, but he is most effective if he is in counter-stamp mode.

At a recent press conference, Hitchins and Kambosos were supposed to have a face, but the press conference got out of control, and it suddenly ended. Both boxers heated verbal exchanges, and the temples increased when Hitchins tried to lure Kambosos in a bet when he pulled out $ 50,000 cash.

27-year-old Richardson Hitchins is a favorite of 7-1, but he is fighting a man who is very comfortable in the underdog role. Kambosos has a record of (2-0) on MSG, and when he fights with Hitchins on Saturday night, he is confident that he will win number three.

On Saturday evening, June 14, Richardson Hitchins plans to achieve a routine victory and then go to a possible unification, while the challenger George Kambosos wants to play the role of Spoiler and wants to take the IBF Super Lightweight World title to Australia.
