Slow starts to cost the white rhino

Allen made things worse for himself by sticking to the game plan not to throw many strokes in the first four rounds. He wanted to wait until Makhmudov disappeared a little before starting his offense. The problem was that by the time he started, he was beating all the shots that Makhmudov hit him.

The scores were 117-109, 116-110 and 115-111.

“I just weren’t good enough. He’s better than Johnny Fisher, and I beat, ‘Dave Allen said The bumpy groundthinking about his loss of Arslanbek Makhmudov. “I thought,” I’m going to get this fellow in round nine, “but my legs were gone. I have been hit too many good shots. ‘

Allen has his best chance to win, wasted by rarely throwing push for the first four rounds. That’s when he had to fight hard, because the blueprint was already created on how to carry Makhmudov. You start fast.

To be beaten to start the comeback

When Allen began to arrive in the ninth, he had already taken up so much punishment at that point that he could not let his hands go.

“Yes, I would say that,” Allen said when asked if it was the hardest he had ever hit. “He was hacked himself.”

Johnny Fisher, Luis Ortiz and Tony Yoka hit Allen pretty hard. It seemed that Makhmudov did not hit him so hard because he lost so much speed. Yet the shots that Makhmudov landed were heavy, and you could see that he was a naturally powerful fighter.

He doesn’t have to load up like some fighters. Allen made it easy for Makhmudov to land by standing in front of him and just covering.

Joshua vs. Makhmudov: A real possibility?

“I think Joshua stops him in a round or two. I think Makhmudov is good, but not as good as he was. Makhmudov, two or three years ago, would have been another statement, I think. He is still better than me, but not as good as he was, ‘says Allen.

‘The White Rhino’ Allen can be right about Makhmudov. The version of him who defeated Carlos Takam in 2022 would have great problems Anthony Joshua. Makhmudov was faster and more agile at the time. Some of the shots he hit Takam would be dangerous to take Joshua. Takam took them, but was off twice.

It is doubtful whether Joshua will agree to fight Makhmudov. He said he said AJ would fight against him in 2026. We do not know if Joshua has humor. There are indeed better options for Joshua to fight next year, start with Jake Paul or Tyson Fury.
