I was one of the best signings of Arsene Wenger but Arsenal Move put me in hell of the pitch

Ask any Arsenal fan of their favorite signing and you can bet on the controversial nature of this agreement for Sol Campbell.

Okay, Thierry Henry is surely the largest Gunners player in terms of natural talent, while home heroes like Tony Adams will have a special place in the heart of many goodiers.

Campbell, however, did what they have done very few players and crossed the division in North London, from Tottenham to Arsenal in a free transfer in 2001.

The former International of England arrived at the end of his contract in Spurs, and at one point it seemed that he would be left and sign a new agreement.

Campbell probably will not have much regret for his transfer to Highbury, as he won two Premier League titles, as well as other great honors.

Most of the Center-Back was also part of the Invincible Side Legendary 2003/04, guaranteeing a special place in English football history books.

However, Arsene Wenger later admitted that he was not sure that he happened with the signature of Campbell again, given what he did to the player and his life out of the pitch.

“I knew would cause London -stroked debates, but the player was really convinced.” Wenger said in an interview a few years ago.

“I thought he was able to deal with adversity. For me, it was easy because everyone was aware that he had signed a great player. But he was more complicated for him.

This is a statement by Wenger on a player who contributed so much to Arsenal on the pitch, but whose life was clearly challenging.
