Jannik sinful: on another level.
Ben Shelton, which is eliminated by the Italian on two of the last three major, saw the first hand on Wednesday while falling into the world No.1 in straight groups for the sixth consecutive time.
Shelton says there is no one else in the tours he plays with the high -ranking, shocking style that the sinner possesses.
“His ball speed is really high. I have never seen something like that,” Shelton said. “You don’t see something like this when you are going through the draw. When you play it, it’s almost as if things are at speed 2x.
“Difficult is difficult when a boy is hitting the ball so big, constantly out of both sides and serving the way it is.”
Shelton, who won his first match with Shelton in Shanghai in 2023, has fallen 15 consecutive groups for the sinner and lost his last six ties against him. He has been close, sometimes, and he was again on Wednesday, but not so close.

“I had the right idea for many of the match today,” he said. “I served much better than I did in Australia. Smarter. I just went for him. But my first service percentage fell in the moments I needed, and I probably just played a lot of rehearsals. It was almost like the preface I was hitting what I needed to go for a guy like him, I was rotating them.”
Despite losses to Alcaraz in Roland-Garros and Sinner in Wimbledon, Shelton may receive comfort in his efforts on the natural surface Grand Slams. He has improved significantly on both surfaces, and he is looking forward to receiving that trust again in the US strong courts this summer. “There is no doubt in my mind that I am returning to my favorite surface now and the US wine a better player compared to where I was on March,” he said. “There is no doubt. Athletic ability, movement, ball tolerance, shot selection, feeling, finishing in the net, returning the game.”
Shelton has reached a high level of success by the age of 22, but he is far from being a finished product in his mind.
“I’m a critical thinker. I’m trying to solve problems,” he said. “I know I’m not where I want to be. This is the type of what I am focusing on. Of course to be closer and being in the later stages makes you even more hungry and makes you feel like you can do it and you can trample.
Despite the best career performance in Roland-Garros (16th round) and Wimbledon (quarterfinal) shelton is far from the content.
“I wouldn’t say I’m happy,” he said. “Can I be or feel safe coming out of the first three collisions of the season going to the fourth and encouraged and excited about the opportunity at US Open because of what I have joined so far this year? Yes. At the same time, it is still lit.”
