Devin Haney denied attending court today for his battery lawsuit against Ryan Garcia from their 20th fight.
Lawsuit reports
There was a report earlier today that Haney (31-0, 15 KOs) attended court in the morning to file a 12-page “battery and bodily injury” lawsuit against superstar Ryan. However, Haney (26) denies that he is going to court.
Devin isn’t saying whether he plans to drop his lawsuit or stick it out to the bitter end, hoping to settle what happened that night seven months ago at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York happened, happened
It’s a night former two-division world champion Haney prefers to forget. He took a good beating from Garcia, who dropped him three times and probably would have knocked him out if he had put his foot on the accelerator.
It seemed Ryan loved the beating he dealt on the young phenomenon, who wants to prolong the suffering as long as possible. He smiled as he beat the living daylights out of poor Haney in that fight. Towards the end of the fight, Garcia showed Devin a look of compassion, looked at Bill and wanted him to throw in the towel to save his son.
Fans, of course, would prefer Haney to focus on re-thinking Garcia and proving he’s better than he is in the ring rather than going to court. This is considered a poor move.
I’m not going to a damn court.. foh

“Big News” Teaser
Daddy Haney, Bill, talked about “Big News” coming soon for Devin with his comeback fight. It’s going to look bad if Haney’s next opponent is a ham & egg rather than a top-10 contender or a world champion. If they trot out some no-hoper as Devin’s opponent, Bill is going to look silly standing there.
Haney has the popularity to get a straight shot against one of the champions at 140 or 147 for his next fight. He doesn’t need to line up and earn the title shot like most contenders, but his confidence might not allow him to take that risk. Garcia may have dented his confidence with the three strikeouts he achieved that night 237 days ago on April 20.
“While they talk, we work. While they doubt, we deliver. Self made. Pay yourself. We answer to no one. Big news coming soon,” Bill Haney said on X, talking about Devin.
