No one has played the PGA National better over the past five seasons than Shane Lowrywith the Irishman’s 63 on Saturday putting him at 57 cumulatively in that span.
But still, Lowry hasn’t won a PGA Tour event since 2024 and hasn’t won an individual PGA Tour event since 2019, when he broke through to the Open Championship for his marque victory.
“It’s not necessarily easy to drive around this golf course. There are a lot of very difficult shots,” Lowry said as he shared the 54-hole lead at Cognizant. “But yeah, I’m where I want to be. I’ve had a few chances to win this tournament and hopefully I can take it back tomorrow.”
He’ll start the day tied with master pro Austin Smotherman and both will be inside Sunday’s final bracket at 1:45 PM ET.
