After 54 holes of bogey-free golf, Sepp Straka sits atop the leaderboard at 23 in the final round of American Express. Straka, who is looking for his third PGA Tour win, finished the third round with an incredible par to give him a four-shot lead.
But with the course’s challenging layout and firm greens, no shot is truly safe. Charlie Hoffmanwho won the event in a playoff in 2007, made headlines yesterday when he birdied the par-5 16th hole after hitting his driver off the deck. That risky move helped Hoffman drop to 19 under to finish T2 along with Jason Day and Justin Lower. They are closely followed by Mark Hubbard and Patrick Cantlay, who managed to move up six spots on the leaderboard after his performance during Saturday’s round.
