How to train Knockdown shots with 3 easy configuration tweaks

Welcome Play awakeA regular golf.com game-improvement column that will help you become a smartest, best golf player.

If you have been seeing ChampionshipYou probably heard the notifiers mention the players who hit “shots with Knockdown“With their handcuffs. Basically it is a shot that is hit with a little less power than normal.

Why do the good do that? Well, when you play in the wind – especially when you hit THEir Breeze – the ball can rotate more than usual. And when that happens, it becomes harder to control where you go.

With a stroke, the players will take a little more club and swing with a little less power, keeping the ball lower and generating less rotation.

Strike is extremely useful when conditions become difficult or when you need a lower ball flight to approach the ball near the pin. Below, instructor Kelan McDonagh – a native Ireland – explains how you can easily hit a shot by making some small configuration adjustments.

How to hit a knockdown kick

The nice thing about a knockdown kick is that you don’t need to do anything to crazy to attract it. In fact, the goal can be executed by anyone if you make some minor adjustments in your configuration.

“Growing up in Ireland this is a shot that everyone had to learn a lot on our own,” McDonagh says. “We understood a way to bring down the ball down the wind because you are normally playing in a wind two to three clubs in the courses of links.”

The first thing you have to do to hit a knockdown kick is to choke a couple inch in the syllable. Next, move the ball position a few inches back to your stay from where it would be normally, and then throw your footprint leg just to close your stay.

By making these adjustments, you will naturally harden the shaft, take the club and take your club path by working more to go out.

“Closing your attitude is (also) going naturally shallow your attack angle and get some rotations that shot,” McDonagh says.

Then all you have to do is make a normal pace. With the adjustments you have made, the ball will come out slightly below and pull towards the pin. As is as easy as it.
