
You hit very well short game shot. Sometimes you don’t. The inconsistency is that while you may have good technique, you are not adapting to the lie.
Doing so makes all the difference in the world.
In tight lies, such as on the freeway and with the cap, rotate your lead wrist slightly clockwise so that, on your release, the ball of your foot is pointing skyward. This adds loft, increases bounce and gives you an uninterrupted spin.
On fluffy lies, like when you’re in the rough or second cut, you want to keep wrist action to a minimum, to the point where you have your toe pointing skyward, not your face. This prevents excessive sliding under the ball.
Work on both versions and you’ll always get up and down.
