“Phil’s place in Pro Golf is definitely complicated,” the French said in this week’s episode of Golf. “But he has been extremely good with a great fan in me.”
The link between French and Mickelson came thanks to the player of professional player Mark Baldwin, who is co-worker with French on Monday. After the connection was made, Mickelson invited French for a golf day. There was only one issue: the French were fighting with a useful case of yips chipping.
“We’re 10 meters away from the green, and I’m shredding and chips in green,” said the French. “I hit 10 (shots) and didn’t hold a green in front of Phil Mickelson. And so I met him.”
Fortunately for French, Mickelson had some sound tips to correct yips.
“I was in dark places,” the French said. “Really really helped.”
After going out on the course, the day was a memorable.
“I have to play 36 holes (with it) in the spill-a ** rain with one of the greatest players of our lives,” the French said. “That’s good like hell.”
