control each week For the unjustified thoughts of our writers and editors as they break down the hottest themes in this sport, and join in the conversation by tweeting us to us in @golf_com. This week, we discuss the importance of Ryder Cup Prep, Rory Mcilroy’s Irish victory and more.
The Ryder Cup does not start next week, though 21 of the 24 players competing in it will remove it anyway. Eleven of the 12 members of the European team Ryder Cup are on the field at the BMW PGA Championship while 10 of the 12 Americans will play the ProCore Championship In Napa, Caliph. Two years ago, only two US Ryder players competed in Napa and nine out of 12 had five weeks of rest between the Tour and Ryder Cup championship, which was a move that Americans were highly criticized to follow their loss. How important is this week for Ryder Cup? Little or much?
Josh Berhow, managing editor (@Josh_berHow)): I think matters! Now, you can argue that the Americans did not participate in Napa again in 2021 and still passed through the whistles, but if the option is one or the other and I am the captain of this team, I would choose to play. It is good to get competitive liquids and I think the aspect of building the team is important. Another conversation is the time of the Ryder Cup and/or the Tour championship, which makes the American team deal with this break.
Josh Schrock, news editor (@Schrock_and_Awe) :: Of course it doesn’t hurt. American players were undoubtedly rusty in Rome, though I am uncertain how much it was about pressure shells. Credit to Keegan Bradley to get most of his team to buy, and for Scottie Scheffler, who places tone as world no. 1 and is clearly purchased to make sure Americans are much sharper this time. Will it matter? We will soon discover it.
Sean Zak, elderly writer (@sean_zak) :: I think it matters a lot, but not necessarily in the ways you will expect. I think it is important that Jj Spaun feels like he is the teammates with Bryson Dechambeau. And he dechambeau feels as a friend of the Scottie Scheffler team. This time last year, they both were suddenly Crypto.com Opponents of the confrontation, and not exactly friendly that week. Dechambeau will be in Napa for team -related activities, and I think it’s important. Like Collin Morikawa should continue to grind for his deployment and Harris English by grinding in his entire game. Everyone should feel more comfortable, and next week can really help.
2 years after the loss of Ryder Cup, SH.BA makes great changes in preparation

Luke Donald finished his team Ryder Cup with the six captain’s elections he made last Monday, and his list consists of 11 of the 12 players who beat the US in Rome. How many shares do you put on that experience?
Berhow: Many, especially as it is a game away for them. But what is important here is that he did not achieve experience like what may have happened in previous years with some of those long -term regulations. He has the 12 best possible players and I think there is little debate on this, at least less debate than he has on the American side.
Schrock: Don’t see how you can’t put too much shares in it. Not only does he restore the experience, but his experience that is not the prime minister past. Team Europe knows how these people play together and has a good sense of what pairs they want in what sessions. I think Josh made a good point in what Donald got no experience for the sake of experience, but he received experience that he was also playing well and not spent her prime minister as the case has been in the past (see: Europe, 2021).
ZAK: It is very important that Sepp Straka washed his feet and Ludwig Aberg was so well paired with Victor Hovland and, well, that Matt Fitzpatrick felt everything that feels like giving a match win. All is all important to feel as if you belong and do not feel the opposite – as if you do not belong. Cauldron Ryder Cup is different, and strange thoughts can appear.
In Irish Open, Shane Lowry said he did not think that at home fans Ryder Cup would be very harsh in his European team, saying: “We play weeks, weeks in America. We all live in America, or most of us do, anyway, and we all got many fans in America. You buy this?
Berhow: Oh no. No, no, no, no. Can become ugly. And of course it won’t be softened. Ironically, this comment may not help issues, both in “dazed and confused” when Jodi Kramer told her friends to easily take her child’s brother, Mitch Kramer, for the first students. Iodine, just made it worse!
Schrock: Oh, Shane. American fans may love you to the artist previously known as Northern Trust, but things will not be friendly, come the end of the month in Long Island.
ZAK: Sorry, Shane. But you just wrong. Tyrrell Hatton and Jon Rahm, to mention only two, did not particularly want it when the Americans were brutal to them in the whistling straits. And it was in a largely non-competitive cup. If this is near-I would like to think that it will be-lowry there will not be many fans cheering for his blow in Bethpage.
Rory Mcilroy’s Irish victory was a reminder of what was telling us
Seduce
Rory Mcilroy won Irish Open On Sunday, his first victory from masters in April. An important victory because…?
Berhow: Because the Ryder Cup is quickly approaching and he needed a little of his back and to get out of this small function. Windo winner for every player is important for some reason, even for these guys who accumulate them more than others.
Schrock: Winning a tour that he keeps high in the way he did is a good reminder to him, and we, despite his master’s illness, Rory Mcilroy can still give moments that no one else currently plays. It is another important trophy for a year of career and shows that he is ready for Ryder Cup.
ZAK: Because it was his first victory since the masters. The next victory is always important. This provides something we were not really safe for a week ago: it will be a problem for the Yanks.
The USA team won the Walker Cup on Sunday at Cycle Points Clubbeating GB & I 17-9. As we got a chance to see some possible future stars, we also got a brief appearance of Cypress Point, the second round of golf course in the world. How important are the places for amateur events like this? And where else would you like to see a Walker cup?
Berhow: For all regular PGA Tour events and diplomas that stop at places that do little to harass the average fan, the Walker Cup gets it right. The old course two years ago and Lahinch (see it!) Next year. These sites are important because they add juice to amateur events, which are often more difficult than pro events, and bring little gravitas to an important two-day showdown that highlights some truly future stellar talent.
Schrock: I fully agree with Berhow. This is what it is supposed to be about. Having this event in Cypress just added juice to one of the best golf events of the year, and the USA/Walker Cup continues to do so.
ZAK: Would you watch numerous videos on Youtube regarding the creation of the course, membership, the crew of the bases, etc. If the Walker Cup was in… French Lick? Or Streamong? Or even Spanish-Spanish-Spanish Cypress Bay? With all the proper respect for those beautiful places, they are not the cypress, and they are not close. And with all the proper respect for amateurs in the field … They are still just amateurs! TV event event needs a special combination between field, stock and site – and that was as good as you can get for the site. It helps you push you to spend anything else that may be missing. Tl; Dr: Places for this event matters a lot, so much.
