Liverpool managed to beat Brighton 2-1 at Anfield in another brilliant result for Arne Slot’s side.
The Reds were 1-0 down but managed to come back at Anfield to win the game 2-1 thanks to goals from Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah.
Slot’s side have moved to the top of the league now with Manchester City’s defeat against Bournemouth today.
The Reds are two points clear of Pep Guardiola’s Man City in another early twist in the Premier League title race.
Arsenal were beaten 1-0 by Newcastle at St James’ Park in another positive result for Slot’s men, making it Liverpool’s best possible day.
However, the only negative to today’s win was the injury suffered by Ibrahima Konate.
The French defender was withdrawn at half-time and replaced by Joe Gomez, who impressed in the second half against a determined Brighton side.
Virgil van Dijk has been asked about his centre-back’s injury and the Dutch centre-back is hoping it is not too serious.
“So many bodies around the ball and I think I headed it on the arm,” Van Dijk said after the match BBC Sports.

“Hopefully it’s not too bad. We’ll just have to see. You can be really good as a player with an arm injury, so hopefully he’ll be OK.”
Konate has been solid for the Reds this season and has taken his game to the next level under Slot’s leadership.
The Reds were linked with new defenders throughout the summer transfer window, but not signing a new defender proved to be the right decision and it has worked in their favour.
Ibrahima Konate has turned his career around at Liverpool
Konate was demoted to the bench by Jurgen Klopp last season but has managed to prove his critics wrong again.
Van Dijk would be hoping to get his partner back soon as the Dutch defender looks comfortable playing alongside him.
Aside from Konate’s injury, everything has worked in the Reds’ favor and Slot has managed to win eight of the ten Premier League games he has managed, proving his side are to be feared in this title race season
