Honor and golf folds are returning

There are moments that change everything. For Lieutenant Colonel Dan Rooney, that moment came as he returned from his second task tour in Iraq. As his flight landed, the pilot announced that they were carrying the remains of the Corporate Brock Bucklin. Rooney watched from his place as Bucklin’s twin brother walked solemnly along with the flag -fired casket to meet the family on Tarma. Among them was Buclin’s young son, Jacob.

That night left an indelible mark. And it aroused a mission that has affected tens of thousands of lives. Rooney founded the folding of honor with a simple but powerful purpose: to fulfill the hopeful sacrifice.

Since 2007, Honor files has provided more than 52,000 educational scholarships to spouses and members of fallen or disabled military service. And today, that mission has increased to include the first response.

A game that gives back

Golf has been a foundation stone of the Folds of Honor mission from the beginning. What started with a single day of donations -based patriot golf has grown in a nationwide movement.

Through charity tournaments, collecting brand and funds, Golf has helped collect millions of scholarship funds. Puma Golf’s patriotic packet collections, for example, are mixed in red, white and blue style, while PGA Tour, Title, Callaway, Footjay, Fujukura, Foresight Taylormade and other high brands are lined up with honor folds to create limited edition products and campaigns.

And it’s not just brands – it’s also players.

Gary Woodland: A heart ambassador

Few athletes have supported the folding of honor more public than Gary Woodland.

The 2019 Open Open champion is wearing the honor logo with pride on the course, but its support goes beyond logos and appearances. He has spent time with families whose life has been changed by the organization. He has heard their stories, associated with their children, and used his platform to illuminate a light on what will actually stand folds of Honor.

As Gary says:

“The values of honor sheep represent – integrity, sacrifice opportunities – they are greater than golf. It is to give again to the people who have given them everything. I am honored to support them, and I will continue to do everything I can to help them change their lives.”

Honoring heritage, supporting the future

What makes the folding of honor so special is not just the financial support they offer – is the message behind it. Everyone given is a reminder that sacrifice will never be forgotten. She tells a child who has lost a parent that their dreams still matter. She tells one husband that their family is not alone. And now, she tells the families of police officers, EMTS and firefighters that their service is also honored.
